Mike, I have driven the BMW 3 series in the past, and now have a 2.5 manual with ivory leather and the wood grain package for the console. I enjoy the handling immensly, but for me, each day boils down to what my cockpit is like. Not so much the performance. Someone said "Luxury then Sport", vs. "Sport then Luxury", and I agree. For me, the interior of my car, the quiet ride, the amazing suspension, and no trunk or whining problems, causes me to feel as if I am moving down the freeway in a formal dining room. All the ammenities and that is really what "I" the driver see 90% of the time. The oogling at the car wash account for very little of the time with the car. And I personally could give a frogs fat A$$ what anyone else thinks, becaue it DOES IT FOR ME.
The leather is supple, the workmanship on the interior is beautiful, and the AWD and manual tranny are worth the low 30's sticker.

Luc
