Fools give opinions when they show their ignorance by not knowing what they are talking about. Ford owns Jaguar, not GM. You might have a lot more credibility if you at least had the basics correct. You evidently don't even listen to your own recommendations since you admittedly bought a first year model. How about doing some homework, learn a little about cars, maybe go test drive an X-Type and then come back and give your opinion. But then again, that probably wouldn't work since that would require you to make up your own mind.

The BMW is really refined quality. The jag is (i think now owned by GM) a slapped together response to bmw volvo and audi all wheel drive models. The Jag uses familiar GM platforms and off the shelf parts from GMs many suppliers. The only "heritage" here is the logo. Like ford's purchase of volvo the only purpose of the jag name is to sell the image to foolish comsumers. The BMW has image, heritage and real performance. Read the reviews-the JAG loses. Also, NEVER buy a car in its first or second year out. I bought an A4 in '96 and the next year the HP went from 172 to 194. These enhancements happen all the time.
