GM of Europe actually makes one of the best trannies in the business, second maybe to Mercedes. RR used GM tranies for years until a deal with BMW was stuck, now I believe they are ZF 5 speed autos.

And it is Ford who owns Jaguar, not GM...yet anyway. Although I critisized(?sp) Jaguar for using Ford parts...othe makes do it within there own company...Honda' Accord spawned the Odessy, Acura TL and CL and MDX and the new Honda Pilot, while Toyota's Camry, spawned the Avalon, Sienna, Higlander, ES300, RX300, Solara.

It make good business sense.
