we had this feature in our last car (a VW Beetle) and all we found was that the battery in the key lasted half as long!

Good point. And with needing to press the remote twice to set the deadlocks I suppose it's even worse. Still, how much can a remote battery cost?

It's not the cost or the fact that one should visit the dealer once a year for a battery change, it's the fact that the battery once failed on my wife without giving us warning that it was about to go!
