This deal seems about right if it's a 36-month term and 15,000 miles/year (comparing to the numbers on my own lease). However, it's not a good idea to put money down on a lease. Since there's no equity in it, all you're doing is lowering your payment. I'd accept a payment closer to $550-600/month, then take your $5000 and find a good investment for it. I was in the EXACT same situation a few years ago in debating about putting $5000 down on a lease. Sure it was in the middle of the internet boom, but that $5000 ended up returning close to $15,000 and I paid for the ENTIRE payment for 1 1/2 years on the return alone! Times have changed, but I'd earn interest on your own $$$ rather than letting it go into Jaguar's pocket. Just an opinion.
