I was able to pick up my X-type during my lunch hour today. My last patient cancelled and thus I was at the dealer at noon exactly. My service rep greeted me, asked how the loaner was, and proceeded to process my checkout. She made a printout of my initial list of complaints and went through each one explaining to me what was done exactly. For the whining noise that occured between 25-75mph, she said the entire driveshaft was changed. She specifically mentioned a bearing that was part of the driveshaft that was defective, and thus the whole driveshaft needed to be changed. They added the control valves for the leaking nozzles, and even replaced one nozzle on the driver side that was found to be loose, etc.... As she was going through the list, my car was pulled up, washed and prepped. She took the keys of the loaner S-type from me, charged me 58 dollars for the oil change that I requested (by the way, she said they use semi synthetic fluid) and told me to have a nice day. The green light that comes on after pressing the button on the mirror in the S-type does not on the X-type. I went up, inspected my car, did a walk around, got in and drove away. No more rattle from the armrest, no more whine from the driveshaft, no more leak from the nozzles. Again, the entire transaction took less than twenty minutes, I was out by 12:20. Jaguar of Troy scored high points with me on the entire service experience. Everything went as smoothly as possible. My entire trip back to the office was driven with the radio off, and I wasn't able to hear a thing that annoyed me (believe me, I was really listening hard). With all due respect to S-type owners, I was really glad to be driving my X-type once again. When the questionaire arrives in the mail asking me how my service experience went, I'm giving them an "A+". Thanks Jaguar of Troy (Michigan), for a truly pleasant experience, now my Baby is back home. Again, It was built Nov. 1st 2001. If anyone has any questions, I will be glad to answer them...
