After getting in my car to drive home from the office, found a message on my cell phone from Amber, my Service Rep. that was left at 11:10 A.M. stating that my car was ready for pick-up. I immediately called her back. By then it was close to 5 P.M. She said that all the work was done, including the change of the driveshaft! I voiced my concern that I wouldn't be able to get to the dealership in time today, since the service department closes at 5:30 P.M. She said not to worry, I can pick up my car tomorrow after work, they're open until 8:30 P.M. on Thursdays. I'm upset that I didn't check my voice messages earlier today, I might have been able to pick up my Baby today instead of tomorrow. Anyway, I'll report tomorrow to the board regarding the results of the repairs. By the way, now that I am driving an S-type, I noticed that with the auto dimming rear view mirror, when I press the button on the bottom of the mirror, a green light comes on. This does not happen in my X-type i.e. no light comes on when the button is pressed. What are your experiences?Tot Doc - I am curious about the "driveshaft" replacement. I have a 2.5 manual and I have a whine at about 70-85 MPH on deceleration. I made an appointment, they dropped the rear end and told me that the counterweights had already been installed on the driveshaft at the factory. They drove another manual and said that both have the same sound. Was your fix for the same whinning concern? I was told that there is not yet a recall effort, but rather just a technical bulletin to add the counterweights. Any info you can give will be appreciated.
