I opted not to get the premium sound (don't need 6 CD changer -- CD's are *so* 80's) and I am not impressed with the basic audio.


But then again, YMMV. Depends on what your ears are like. If you have a discriminating ear, then the sound will bug you. (lack of depth and separation) If you just want a way to play CD's, then it should be just fine.


On my end, I was planning on doing some of my own upgrades eventually anyway, so I wasn't going to pay the extra $$$.
