When I used CarFax about 18 months ago before buying my XK8, I knew it had been in a minor incident, but CarFax didn't track it. It appears CarFax only reports things that result in salvage or rebuilder titles, which an accident that doesn't total a car won't produce. Perhaps CarFax has started tracking and reporting minor accidents? I don't know how they'd have that information however.

Alan makes a great point, especially with everyone having access to tools such as CarFax these days.

I know if I'm going to buy a used car, I'm surely going to run it through CarFax first and won't even consider one that had been wrecked.

Thanks for listening, Magoo
