This theory is great until you realize that the S-Type has the key fob global close functionality in the US! that's where I start to get confused. why can an S-Type do it and an X-Type can't???

It basically boils down to the legal climate within the US. Jaguar and their parent company are probably afraid that some customer's pet or child will accidentally get caught in the window when the close cycle begins. By using the key the customer has more control over anyone or anything getting caught in the Windows. It is becaus of conditions like this that foreign cars always seem to get to market sooner with the innovative ideas that are true surprise and delights for the customer.

... with the ability to close all of my windows with the remote? Since I know about this feature, I use it several times a day. I don't want to miss this feature anymore...
Why does Jaguar make this kind of differences between the european and the overseas versions?

It's an audio cd explaining all the features of the X-Type and how to use them. I got mine with all the other owners/operating manuals located in the vinyl green binder. If you did not get one call Jenkins and ask for one.

Did you get a video cd as well? i didn't get an audio one, only a video one (pc). They may have updated their material to eliminate the confusion in the US, because my cd says nothing about being able to do a global close with the remote -- only with the key.
