Went car shopping in the middle of the winter here in Chiagoland. Not the best idea, but this winter wasn't too bad. My Jag dealer happened to sell BMW also. So i had a side by side comparison. In fact, the other car that i was looking at a 2002 325Ci parked in the next row, 10 feet from the X-type. It was a metallic silver also, cd, leather, sport package, auto(though i wanted a manual for the coupe but like an auto for a sedan). I always thought that the BMW coupe look alot better than the 4 door sedan(too short to have 4 doors IMO). The BMW was a little more money due to the sport package, so the price of the cars with same options are basically the same. My first impression was that the jag look fresher, a warmer interior, and definately a sexier car due the leaper and those beautiful curves design on the body. Standing in between the cars in the middle of the winter here in Chiagoland for about five minutes looking left and then right then left again. God, I hope no one is looking when i was doing that. Anyway, the paint job on the jag was second to none and definately more eye catching, though i would probably go with black on the BMW. Test droved both cars, and they both handled beautifully(no snow here in Chicago in middle of december go figure). I got to admit that the AWD and the look of the jag sold me. That particular X-type was sold a day later as i was haggling with the salesman:{ But he told me they have the same car coming in January with the same options or non-options in this case. Picked up the X-type, 2.5, platinum, auto, charcoal, single cd player a week ago. It dives great, and is all good and well. The car is simply beautiful. I get looks left and right, and everything works like they supposed to. One minor glitch though, i too have the weeping windshield nozzle problem, but that should be an easy fix. Man, i can't wait to take her for another drive this weekend, it is supposed to be in the mid 50's and sunny.
