I have got the same problem on my 3.0 sport (with the 8 way electric seat option) delivered just before Christmas. A slight forward and back rocking when coming to a stop, which is a bit irritating on an otherwise faultless car. I first came accross the problem last summer at the test driving stage before placing my order. The dealer acknowledged the problem but said this had been fixed in later production vehicles, and I shouldn't be concerned. Clearly it hasn't.
I recently took my car to the local Jag workshop and the team manager I spoke to said there is always some movement in electric seats because of the mechanical drive mechanisms. (This is true of the electric seats in my old SAAB 900 but they don't actually rock during driving) He contacted the factory "dealer technical support forum" but said there was nothing to indicate this was a generic problem which they are working on, though they have in the past had this problem on another model and a bearing change was required. So I don't really know where that leaves those of us who are experiencing the problem on the X-type, but I guess the more people who flag up the problem the more likely it is to be attended to.
i have a 3.0 sport, and i notice the rocking when stoping or starting....
Anyone else noticed a slight rocking motion in the driver's seat? Is there a fix for it?
