I just took delivery on my x-type 12/31/01...I've had no trunk problems...works everytime...I think they are making new ones with this fix...

Mark, there was a problem with the boot latch supplier, mine was replaced twice before the erratic operation was fixed. The new part number in the US is C2S-17125 Latch-Trunk.
