Hmmm,

I bought my parents a 02 Type S. They have had Acura's since 87 and I've owned a few too. Great sporty cars for Japanese. Not the isolated Japenese Cadillacness of Lexus. A 02 TL Type S(only option is excellent DVD Nav) was $33 +/- list. 260 Hp and great 5 Speed Tiptronic. Works as a Tiptronic should...very intuitive.

The cons...you will see yourself comming and going. Acura Sold 45,000 02 TL's in 01 alone! X Type lots more exclusive. No manual is avail on Acura (yet-6 speed rumored). X Type Jaguar-ness interior is more sumptious, but smaller.

Both are great cars...but not really a far comparison. People that buy the X Type are a little more indivualistic(sp?) not so much main stream. It all depends what you are looking for. I as sure, both dealers will let you have an extended test drive of each. My folks is pearl white with Ivory interior and looks great...they looked at the 02 ES300, but for $38K for same features, really soft ride, and a lot less power, there was no question for them. X Type was too small for there needs, and S Type is rear drive only.

Good luck...any questions, e-mail me directly.

Joe

Just test drove the Acura and read a mass of info praising the car. Lots of "options" are standard. Like the X type and have read all your rave comments. Any opinions on how the Acura compares? Also, does anyone know of promos still running on the Jaguar? Thanks. hp
