Rich,

Try pushing the green manual release button on the trunk lid again. Make sure the trunk lid is unlocked before you do. That same problem has happened to me and pushing the green button was the only way I could get the trunk latch to recycle. I have had the lock replaced and had the same thing happen the first time I closed the truck. Since then, the lock has always worked as designed.

I tried to shut the trunk by being more forceful in my closing. I tried pushing the remote button one time. I tried pushing the remote button two times. I tried pushing the back manual button on the trunk. As I write the trunk will not shut properly and hence the alarm will not set.
If you had this problem, how did you fix it? I know, take it to the dealer, in the meantime, what?
I should add that I put something into the trunk which required I drop the driver's side back seat and then put it back into place upon removal of the item. I don't think it has anything to do with it but the "something" was a racing seat for my Miata. Does the X have a record of being jealous?
Rich
