Check out the Road Test Summaries for the X-Type in that same issue of Car & Driver. That data comes from a June 2001 road test in Car & Driver, which was very complimentory. Also check out the Road Test summaries in Road & Track. The data in both summaries are pretty much the same and disagree with the comparison test. So there are 2 tests from Car & Driver that totally disagree. Seems to me that Car & Driver is the one that needs repair. But of course, I doubt if logic means much to you.

I saw how you people tried to dismiss the Edmunds review. Well guess what, it gets worse. The Feb issue of Car and Driver ranks Sports Sedans, and the X-type got 5th place. It lost out to a Caddy! Guess what got first - the BMW 330i
