I am sorry to say that as a JAG technician, there is NO phone that will work with the currrent system on an X-type! Reason being...the audio system is the brain of all the telematics, and it uses fiber-optic communication. If you want a phone that will work with the system (IE:handsfree/compatibility), you will have to shell out the bucks!Not to doubt your position as a tech, but I highly doubt the phone is all optic. Point being that at some point the photons *HAVE* to be converted back to electrons for use in the phone.
Either the phone converts it (doubt it) or there in an interface that does so. If this is the case, all you need is the "pinouts" for it and you can make your own connector.
Now, you might not be able to (READ: probably won't) make the phone answer or dial from the Jag controls, but patching in the audio to speakers and mic can't be that difficult...
