Thanks Mike!

Serge,

My X-Type had the leaking nozzles and yesterday, the service department installed the check valve. I've heard it called both a "check" valve and "control" valve. They installed it very close to where the line splits to go to the nozzle on the passenger side. On mine, if I lift the hood, the fluid line comes from the passenger side and is attached to the hood by plastic clips. Follow the line and right before the the line reaches the passenger side nozzle, you'll see a round black part (about the size of a quarter) plugged into the line. That's the check valve. If your dealer doesn't know about the problem, ask them to call Jaguar Technical Support. I suspect that 90% of all X-Types have this problem, so it's pretty common. My dealer said that the S-Type has a check valve, so if you stop at the dealer, pop the hood in an S-Type and take a look.

I have a late Nov 2001 built x-type..so I figured the new control nozzles would have been added already to keep the windshield washers from dripping...I opened the hood and don't see any sort of control valve...does anyone know what they look like and where I would find them on the line leading from the nozzles? I want to see if they are there, but not sure what to look for? Also if anyone has had them replaced what is the exact word for them....my dealers service dept does not seem to know about the fix..thanks.
