I have been reading some of the numerous other articles on the x-type and most are extremely favorable. Take a half hour and enter x-type on yahoo search and you'll find 30+ articles. All good except for edmunds. Try the same for the 325 or 330 xi and you'll find most are unfavorable but not as scathing as the edmunds article. I haven't found much on tha 2002 Audi's. I don't see any reason for Jaguar to respond to edmunds. What good would it do?
Personally, I doubt it. I suspect those who have read the review will either take it at face value, have enough sense to check out other reviews, or understand that one example doesn't represent the entire production run. If Jaguar responded, it would not change the minds of those who have already been persuaded by the article. Jaguar would do a lot better by responding to its customers' questions/concerns/problems, something they have not shown to be very important. Word of mouth by owners is a lot more powerful than reviews.
Mike
