Enjoy it and best of luck. Try not to be a negative fool like some of these board members.
Joe
I will be taking delivery of a 3.0 anthracite/charcoal sport x1, x3, cd etc jan. 10. I bought it after the edmunds review but not after going out again and test driving the A-6, A-4, 325xi, and 330 xi (the 5 and 7 series were not options since no awd and e-class w/4matic too costly and cushy) I have friends and family that own 2002's of each of the respective cars test driven and have no hesitations about my purchase. I have been reading the e-mails on this site re: potential problems experienced and have found the dialogue very helpful (for instance-seat wobble, tranny and washer noise). I noticed none of these problems with the X I purchased. I wonder if the person named "joe" who claims to own an xkr even drove an X. If so, and he "drove it like hell", blew a tranny and got another and did the same thing with a replacement X, why didn't he ask for a different car? An s-type maybe? I don't know of any dealer in my state who has this many X's, or any other new jag, to allow customer to borrow and trash like he claims. I doubt his veracity. I would like to know the name of this dealership so I avoid them and their obstreperous customers like joe. I live in the hills of Conecticut and the awd for me is a must. Both my cousins who bought BMW xi's have had problems with them. So what? They like them for the BMW image. I don't strive for that or any image. I did a comparison shop for an all wheel drive car that I liked in this class. The X beat both Audi and BMW easy.
