Ken,

I don't have much brilliance to display. Getrag is a manufacturer of transmissions. The company supplies/supplied transmissions to BMW and I presume other European auto makers. I'm not positive, but I think the 5 speed in the Lincoln LS is also made by Getrag. I know someone else will show their brilliance and correct me if I am wrong.

Mike

Just saw the specifications for the new 2.0 X-Type and the manufacturer of the 5 speed transmission was listed as "Getrag". The specifications came from Jaguar and stated it was the same as in the 2.5 & 3.0.

Mike
What is a getrag? Do display your brilliance.

local salesman says he "thinks" transmission in 2.5 manual is a getrag [and thus a highlight of car]. any views on that?
thanx
