Mine do the same, as do many other X-Types. My service advisor said he called Jaguar and was told that recently, the control valve was being installed on newly produced X-Types. Mine didn't have one (so he said). He ordered a control valve for my car and I have an appointment to have it installed on 1/2/02. When I first got my car (about 6 weeks ago), the nozzles leaked a lot. Since then they seem to have pretty much stopped. It's annoying, especially after you just washed your car.

I just picked up my brand new baby, a 2.5 with automatic. There's just one problem......The service manager told me, and SHOWED me that the new control valve was indeed installed by Jaguar DURING the manufacture of the car. My question, is why, or what thoughts do you have as to what might be causing the "weeping"? It is mainly coming from the passenger side nozzle, though BOTH are doing it. BTW, the windshield fluid reservior is about 2 inches down from the top. This is REAL annoying and I plan to take it in to the dealer in a few days. Is anyone else having (or heard of) the same problem? Keep in mind, mine DOES have the new control valve installed.
Any and all thoughts on this would really be appreciated.
Thanks,
Ken
Mike:
I thought I'd get back with you as a courtesy. You, and everyone else, may be interested in this tidbit. The service manager called me this afternoon and told me he took a car out for a ride since it was the same as mine.
That car came in a day or two after mine. To make a long story short, his test drive was 10 miles each way. On the way back that car too started to "weep". He ordered a box on control check valves after having called the main Jag service center and they said that the X-Type will need three........you read it right three (3) control check valves in the wiper line. As I mentioned before my car came WITH a check valve installed. It seems most likely that ALL X-Types will eventually have to have THREE valves put in. These seems to be a problem in a lot of cars. Also, I forgot to mention that he said he is getting an email on this subject from Jag headquarters. So I'm assuming that all Jaguar dealers will be getting that email. Hope this helps, and once again, thanks for your reply Mike.
Merry Christmas!
