I thought some of this information might help those who have experienced the same problems as I have. I brought my X-Type 3.0 manual in for service this morning to fix an exceptionally loose armrest/lids on the center console, the
trunk latch that sometimes doesn't lock, leaking from the windshield washer nozzles without activating them and a groaning noise from the front suspension when going over driveway curbs. The armrest/lids were replaced and are now much tighter and no longer squeak. The trunk latch was replaced but the service advisor said he still hears the lock cycling open/close when the lid is resting on the latch. he asked me to try it and let him know. I was told that the newer production X-Types have a control valve installed in the windshield washer line to prevent the leaking I am experiencing. The addition of the control valve must have started very recently because none of the X-Types they had in stock had it. They ordered one for me and mentioned that even though they have not seen the problem before, it must be widespread for Jaguar to have added the control valve to newly produced cars. As for the groaning noise, they said it was from the control arms and ordered them. I'll keep you posted on the future results.Even with these niggling problems, I am still excited about driving it. I have about 900 miles my car and the engine seems to put out more power than when new.
Mike
