My 2.5 auto has done about 400 miles, wondering if the car needs breaking in. I heard the norm is 2,500 miles but then the dealer told me that this is not necessary these days as the manufacturer has done that already. Can anybody tell me whether that;s true?

Great, I'm looking at a 2.5 with automatic.
Please tell me everything about it. Is it smooth throughout the entire range. Does it seem sufficiently powerful without the engine "dragging"? I am looking for SMOOTH and CRISP acceleration. I'm older and therefore am no longer looking to "race" the car, though I must admit I've had mostly sports cars with stick.....and not much has beaten the exhilaration of moving through the gears!
