Dealer's Refusal to sell you car you ordered? (archive)

Can a dealer refuse to sell/give you the car you ordered and put a downpayment on? Would that be legal? It seems to me that all the legal elements of a "contract" exist (offer, acceptance and consideration) when you make an actual downpayment on a car. What say you?
