There are about 18% shared parts with the Ford Mondeo, less than the S-Type shares with the Lincoln LS. If memory serves me correctly, the shared parts include the engine block (heads are Jaguar), transmission, some switchgear and possibly some other components like climate control. Jaguar extensively modified the chassis because of all wheel drive, so the suspension, particularly the rear, is exclusive to the X-Type. Also none of the body panels are shared.
