Scott,

This all started because you were buying a Jag for the wrong reasons...

"The biggest issue for me is "image". The BMW to me say young, sporty, fun. I am 26 years old, so i didn't figure on driving a Jaguar for a few more years but oh well. I don’t think i can pass up on the value."

People who buy cars any cars for "image" are shallow.

People in my chapter of the Jaguar club range from all facets of life and drive all types of Jaguar. Very old, to new. No one there bought a Jaguar for Image. They bought for the love and passion of driving the car and what it used to stand for.

The same goes for my BMW CCA Chapter...we have people in 2002's(the car not the year) and M5's. They all enjoy the car, and the joy of driving it.

I still have an 87 535is that is a blast to drive down a back road on a cool fall day like today.

I don’t own a car that isn’t fun to drive…even my wagon is a 01 540i Sport Wagon.

It's not about what your buddies think...that died with yuppies in the 80's.

My whole point to your initial comment was, a Jaguar X Type is not an image car.

I t doesn’t have the pedigree for that, nor the roots.

If you really only care about image, buy a Benz.

Joe
