Wood dash kits...(m) (archive)

I am planning on adding a wood kit to my center console. I found 4 companies that sell the kits on the internet. If anybody is interested, I'll post the addresses. Before ordering, I called the parts department of my local dealer and asked if they sold the kits. They didn't realize that they were available for the X-Type, but did have the kit for the S-Type. They checked with their supplier and will order an X-Type kit to have in stock or for me to purchase. The kits are priced the same, whether I order on the internet or buy from the dealer, $245. I will probably buy from the dealer since I can see the kit without obligation. I have the charcoal interior, with the base bird's eye maple, and think the extra wood would brighten it up. Has anyone else installed the extra wood?
