Since then things have been much improved, and I imagine that reliability should be at least on a par with BMW and Audi (mind you, I've seen a few BMW's being towed - so maybe their reliability isn't too hot anyway.
According to the info published about the X-type, it has been comprehensively tested to destruction to take into account all weather conditions and abuse which could be hurled at it.
Finally, I gather Jaguar offer a 3 yr warrantee as standard in Continental Europe, where the norm is only 1 year - they must feel pretty confident about that aspect then.
I understand that the warranty here in the good ole USA is for four (yrs)! Not too bad. Now if the Brits could just realize the stupidity of having a standard cassette player. Here in the USA the single in-dash CD player should be standard in comination with the AM/FM radio? The only reason I could think of for NOT having a standard CD is that they want you to pay $1,250 US for a six CD changer for the trunk. In this case its all about improving profit margins. To spend $1,250 on a CD player is the height of stupidity. Does anyone know if another, much cheaper CD player could be hooked up in the back?
