What all does the premium package include for the $2.5k?
Another way to look at it is this...let's say that a car with the premium package will sell for $1,500 more than a car without the premium package in 4 years. If that is true, then your true cost for the premium package is only $1,000 (you pay $2,500 and recoup $1,500 after 5 years).
Of course, these are all just hypothetical numbers.
Keep in mind that when people buy used cars, they like to think to themselves "sure, it's a used care, but it's loaded."
Really--just buy what you think you will enjoy driving. I doubt that the resale a few years from now will be that much worse for one without the premium package, so if you don't care for it, buy the car without it.
