Picked up Pacific Blue on 8/31 (archive)

Just picked mine up this past Friday at the dealer! It didn't take long for it to arrive since the dealer managed to find one exactly as I wanted in transit, only took 2 weeks after ordering. Most cars on the west coast arrived around 8/25 at Port Hueneme near Santa Barbara.

The car is a Pacific Blue 3.0 Auto w/X1, xenon, and audio. I'm very happy about the color choice. My initial impressions of the car are extremely positive. It's a lot of fun to drive! The suspension is not floaty at all, definitely stiffer than the non-sports BMW 3-series. It has virtually no body roll and the steering is very accurate. The tuning was a big surprise. Very sporty even without the X2 package.

The car is still being run-in so I haven't full-throttled yet but the engine feels very powerful already. The 5 speed shifts much like the unit on the Audis and VW Passat, I heard unconfirmed reports that they are related. Shifting pattern is a lot different when the "S" button is switched on, a lot more fun. Exhaust notes at low RPMs sound very good but the engine does sound harsh when revved high compared to BMW and Mercedes 6 cylinders. But the cabin does a good job of filtering out high-pitched sounds...and those leather seats are of high quality. Interior materials can be better but fit and finish is good.

Got 500 miles and counting. loving it so far.
