A couple of things could be going on. At the time you ordered your car, the dealer may not have yet been assigned a build slot for it. So, they guessed that it would come in around Dec. or Jan.--better for them to guess a little too far out rather than having you get upset if they guess a time that is too early and then the car doesn't arrive then.

I could see transport of the car taking a month or maybe even a little more from the time it finishes production. Everything is done in batches--once a batch of cars is finished, it is sent to the port. Once enough cars are there, they are loaded onto the ship and sent over. Once they arrive in the U.S., they must clear the port on this end, and can sit at port for a while. Finally they get put on a truck headed for your dealership...but that truck may have other dealerships to stop at first.

You may get lucky and have your car in November rather than later. Your color combo sounds very nice!

Do you mind if I ask whether your dealer was willing to negotiate on price at all?
