I'd post the URL, but it's one of those free login sites. Their reactions were very postive, and similar to the write-up in Car and Driver (June 01). They did criticize the engine a bit, though.

R/T also has a detailed road test of the X-type 3.0 Sport this month (one problem with the car: It needs a shorter name).


Auto Express (a UK periodical) has mentioned road testing sometime in May. I am curious to see if the product (very well promoted to this point) matches the hype. I, for one, don't necessarily need BMW-beating performance, but I want an overall package that raises the bar. Judging by the specs on interior and exterior dimensions, seemingly elegant interior finish and the move by rivals to aggressively push awd, it's off to a good start.
I also understand that an R-model (330 hp) is planned as a direct competitor to the M3. All in all, it appears that exciting times are ahead!
