I drove the car for six years. I never had any serious problems with it. That engine requires upkeep after 80,000 miles. They way it was driven will affect repairs, but common problems are valve guides, water pumps, power steering pumps,& A/C compressors. The rear struts need care after high mileage. The car has developed quite a following among Mercedes afficianados. I always liked the car and think it is a much better built car than the E55's. You have to pay a lot for a good one. I would only buy one that is Starmarked by a Mercedes dealer.
