All cars, both new and old, have different power and torque ratings based on various national or other standards how to measure them. My brochures for the new and old S-type have both DIN and EEC figures, I guess US brochures will have something else.

I believe the engine can do 400 bhp DIN but it's really up to the transmission when the driver will get it.. ;-)
