HELP! My 2001 3.0 transmission doesn't shift right (archive)

My 2001 S type 3.0 transmission never seems to shift properly. When I punch the gas pedal it delays about 1 to 2 seconds before it responds. Also when accelerating and shifting from 3 to 4th gear the vehicle jolts. The dealer says its in my head....nothing is wrong with the car. If anyone has had similar problems or a solution please respond. thank you...............Mike.
