The article sounds like the "R" matched the M5 toe-to-toe even though the M5 had a manual and the "R" was automatic.

Manual -v- Automatic and "feel" are only subjective measures. Sounds to me like the Jag has made meatloaf of the M5 in the chassis department.

I bet if they were measuring timed passes, the Jag would have had the M5's lunch.

Imagine a manual shifted "R".... Buh-Bye BMW

Not with an automatic tranny!

I just sold an 01 M5 and there is nothing with 4 doors that can touch it. The clutch, the shifter....all perfectly weighted and balanced. I never had a gripe or problem with any of the functions....

My Jag dealer will let me drive one as soon as they get one in. I'll post my findings as soon as i do.

Joe
