The filter is more critical than the oil. Most people who drive this type of vehicle use synthetic oil for it's superior qualities and consistency over the life of the oil change. How often you do change the oil and what type of driving do you do? There are better oil filters on the market than Fram. Most people seem to prefer Mobil One oil and filters. I prefer Amsoil. Regardless dino is not an option for me and does not see the insides of any of my vehicles. This is a hotly discussed item on most of the forums I visit.


Will be changing oil on a friends 2000 S-type V8 tonight. Never worked on one of these before- do I need anything special (tools, etc.).
Have a filter (Fram).
Do these engines need synthetic or mineral oil?
What viscosity?
