Oil Change on 2000 S-type 4.0- Input Please (archive)

Will be changing oil on a friends 2000 S-type V8 tonight. Never worked on one of these before- do I need anything special (tools, etc.).
Have a filter (Fram).
Do these engines need synthetic or mineral oil?
What viscosity?
