| Message: | I'm in general agreement with all the others who said 100,000 miles is likely to mean some serious services or repairs are coming, but if you can buy it for $12,000, then you can spend for some big repairs and still be OK overall on price. What I'll add is that you need to also believe you can find a technician who can do the work competently. My own experience and that of several posters on this MB is that getting good service at any price is an iffy thing. It's one thing to budget up to $8,000 for repairs. It's quite another to imagine spending that much and having the same or worse troubles because the work was not done properly. Some good independent and dealer techs have been identified on this MB. You might search on your town or area and see if any are near you. Of course, if you are a DIY guy, then the above concern is moot. Even the expensive special tools can usually be borrowed and even if purchased they certainly would cost only a small fraction of your theoretical repair budget. | ||||
