Message: Hi all.....the lurch...or I would discribe it as a surge...is a torque converter problem. Fix is through replacement of the torque converter as it is locking up and unlocking. Happens a level throttle and anywhere between 1500 rpm and 2200 rpm. Jaguar is aware of the problem now (at least Jaguar Canada). I have just had mine repaired.
