The later 4.2 XK8/XKRs (And XJs) have the same ZF (6HP26) transmission.

I am now aware of a great many people who have experienced this Lurch (mostly early 02/03 models) - I even have a comment from one of the test drivers about it. I wonder what your Jaguar Dealer's official line on it is ?

Good luck with getting it fixed.

Hunting : Some people have stated that the hunting can sometimes be cured by cleaning the injectors.

I think there is a TSB for the S-Type (but probably similar for the XK8) that discusses similar problems. TSB S307-14
