| Message: | | Check to see if your vacuum advance and mechanical advance are working and not seized. If they are not working correctly you will not get good fuel economy. Because the v12 is very powerful even without distributor advance, a lot of owners fail to pick up this problem. It's quite common on many xjs jags for this unit to be inoperative. Also make sure that your engine reaches proper operating temperature. If it runs too cold, enrichment for fuel injection does not shut down, causing the car to run quite rich. Check also that the brakes are not dragging. On a highway run cruising at 80km an hour, my xjs gets 22 to 24 miles to the gallon.
