| Message: | | one of the things to watch out for on the xjs is make sure that radiator has had the proper rust inhibitor and coolant used as removing the radiator for cleaning can be very costly. it is a common problem on these cars. you can actually fit inline hose filters which work very well. because of severe under bonnet temperatures anything rubber such as vacuum hoses ,radiator hoses, electrical components. and wiring need regular inspection. also inspect fuel filler neck and fuel tank for rust. if you smell fuel get it checked as soon as possible because these cars are notorious for engine and rear boot fires,. due to poor maintenance and inspection by unqualified mechanics. ,.
