| Message: | I was just looking on Craigslist for a car for summer, and came across this beauty: http://minneapolis.craigslist.org/cto/1019892332.html It really is a gorgeous car, and I recall seeing one in Minneapolis last summer... but after reading about maintenance costs, problems, and so forth, I guess it wouldn't be a good buy for me. I've just been drooling over it for the entire afternoon. In fact, I want it so badly that I ache. Fuel economy doesn't bother me, as the first two cars I drove were Chevy Blazers, an '89 and a '97, which both got around 12-16 miles per gallon. I suppose I have neither the high-paying job nor the skills to keep an XJS in good running order, but a boy can dream. My previous favourite car was, don't laugh, the Lincoln Continental Mark V. I rather like the large, comfortable road cruisers... Interestingly, the 400 or 460 V8-powered Lincoln gets, I hear, around 9 MP/US Gal, and from what I've read, this XJS could be expected to get 11-16. My grandmother had a '77 Chevrolet Monte Carlo, the design of which I adored... anyway. Enough rambling for me - Any thoughts on this car? Price okay, things to watch out for if I decide I want it, which I doubt? Anyone in Minnesota who'd want it? Thanks in advance, Jared | ||||
