| Message: | Hopefully this will settle the argument. It is a mathematical fact that on average, you will pay more for the insurance than you'll get back in repairs. All insurance is that way, whether it's health, auto, home, etc. It has to be that way. It's the only way the insurance company can stay in business. It's like a casino: the whole thing is set up so the house wins, on average. I can't emphasize this enough. Vic is correct; these cars are expensive to fix. But again, the odds are you will lose money. What you buy when you get one of these is peace of mind. If the engine ever goes out, the insurance will pay for it (unfortunately, it didn't for Blackbeard). Thus, if you pay $3500 for the warranty, and end up only having them cover $2500 in repairs (which is a quite likely scenario), then you paid $1000 for the peace of mind knowing that if the $10,000 engine fails it's not on your nickel. You have to decide if the peace of mind is worth $1000. I challenge anyone to refute the mathematics of this. Jim Ft. Worth, TX | ||||
