Remove the cover on the top of the engine. The spark plugs are under there. remove each coil and dry out the well and plug under each coil. Then give it an Italian tune-up. (That would be to drive it faster than the law allows for 5 or ten miles)
As to the idle... there ar eknown problems with the return spring. Check that the trottle is returning to home.
