Car not firing/starting right (230 views) (1750 thread views) 
Message: Hello all. I have a 95 Vanden Plas. I will start here...It is running high rpms due to the idle control deal on top of throttle body. Any way...I went to the car wash, shut the engine off and power wash/sprayed under the hood. (i know, bad move) Afterwards, the car did not start. I sat out for about 4 hours. Finally got it started but when I put it in reverse, the started surging. up down up down..I pulled over and the car shut off. Then the Transmission light with an X on it came on. I got up today, missed with the car and it started, but died.

Did this serval times till the last time it just ran without shutting down. Rpms were up and down up and down. Transmission light still on. I shut it off and tried to start it again and it would not start. Does anyone know what is going on? Thanks
