Would I buy another X Type? No.
Does my 04 still look good? Yes and still loving it.
I was going to buy an XF when it first came out in 2008 to replace my Honda, but it was too wide for my 2-car garage (I dont have a driveway) so, instead I bought an 2008 Lexus IS250AWD... which both cars, the X and the IS fit nicely inside.
Mind you the IS has a lot more bells and whistles than my X, but I still prefer the classic'ish look and the built-quality of the X. I have not encountered too many of the issues posted on here other than the (standard) propshaft whine, shakes/shimmies and bad brakes. Overall the X has lived up to my expectations but when it is time to move on to replace it, I will not be looking to buy an used X... havent they stopped production last year?
However, I would definitely consider a Jag product when that time comes.
