| Message: | One very quick way to destroy the already-crappy lug nuts is to over-torque them, which many poorly-skilled tire shops (and even some Jag repair shops) are notorious for doing. One shop I took it to last year ruined them in a heartbeat and I was out for $90 for 4 replacement OEM lug nuts. My car hasn't been back there since. Torque spec on the alloy wheels is 76 ft-lbs. I'm not sure what the steel wheel spec is, though I doubt that many in North America use steel wheels on the X. --Geoff Ottawa Canada '03 X-Type Sport 2.5 85k '06 S-Type R 44k | ||||
